This honorary group was created in tribute to Dr. Clair Searles, the first dean of the College of Business (1930-1958). Membership for this organization is an application and interview process that takes place in the spring semester of each academic school year. Specific requirements are set in order to become a Searles Ambassador and represent approximately one percent of the College of Business.
The students who serve as Searles Ambassadors are committed to the same standard of excellence that Dr. Searles established many years ago. They have expressed their desire to promote and elevate the quality of education within the College, while remembering the history and traditions that have helped to make the institution great. The Ambassadors are also a strong link between the College and its alumni and friends, as well as current and prospective students wishing to know more about the world of business and the programs of study offered at The University of Toledo.
To accomplish this purpose, the Searles Ambassadors participate in a variety of activities throughout the academic year including prospective student open houses, high school visits, student panels, commencement, student appreciation days, and personalized tours of the College of Business. Through these and other opportunities that may arise, the Searles Ambassadors are eager to serve in the spirit of Dr. Clair Searles.
